Runyon Canyon Park is in the Hollywood Hills, overlooking the city of Los Angeles, Calif. It’s a beautiful place where many Angelinos go to exercise, relax, socialize and have fun. Picnicking is a common event at the park. It has a desert climate, making the recreational area extremely arid. The park encompasses many plant and animal species, indigenous to the habitat. The canyon has different trails so visitors may vary the intensity of their hike. They can also experience different scenery as they walk through the environment.
There are multiple places for onlookers to see the beautiful skyline of Los Angeles. On a clear day, visitors can even catch a glimpse of the Pacific Ocean. Guests can view Culver City and the Observatory in Griffith Park, depending on which direction they face. The park includes 160 acres with an elevation of 1320 feet at Indian Rock which is Runyon Canyon’s highest point. There are benches at the top for people to rest on and take in the stunning, panoramic scene. People can access the park from the north end of Fuller Avenue at the southern passageway. They can enter on Mulholland Drive at its northern access point as well.
