Baseball is back! The Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies met on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. Zack Greinke, now undefeated at 4-0 on the young season, outdueled Cole Hamels (0-1) in his first game back from injury as the Dodgers beat the Phillies 5-2. Greinke lasted seven strong innings, J.P. Howell handled the eighth and Kenly Jansen picked up the save for throwing a perfect ninth inning.
Attending baseball games is an excellent way for people to socialize. Many fans go to games meet other people, enjoy the food and to kick back and relax. A lot of stadium goers don’t pay close attention to the game itself. Fans should focus on gameplay to avoid injury. Safety procedures have been put in place though.
Since baseball is indeed back, Matt Stevens, a fan, organized a get-together for about 20 of his friends. Many were coworkers from the school he works at. Stevens claims, “Everyone seemed to have a good time. I had a blast too.” Baseball is an excellent way for friends and family to spend time together. Couples also go to games on dates. Occasionally, there is a proposal or even a wedding in the stands.
